Bis aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, BADD is a hair care ingredient known as a binder and its main function is to repair damaged disulfide bonds in hair. Chemically, the molecule has a double bond (C=C). When it comes into contact with thiol groups (-HS) in damaged hair, the double bond opens up and binds to the thiols, forming a stable -S-C-C-S- structure, which reconnects the originally broken disulfide bonds (-S-S-).
