Nonapeptide-1 is a synthesized biomimetic peptide composed of 9 amino acids. It is a competitive antagonist of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). In cosmetics industry, it is widely used as a highly effective and gentle whitening active ingredient.
