Hexapeptide-2 is a biomimetic peptide that can competitively bind to MC1R receptors on melanocytes, blocking the signal stimulation of α-MSH (alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone). This effectively lowers tyrosinase activity, reducing melanin production and accumulation at the source, helping even out skin tone and improve pigmentation.

Studies show that Hexapeptide-2 can also regulate gene expression related to collagen, promoting the synthesis of type I and III collagen, which helps reduce the number, area, and depth of wrinkles and improves skin elasticity.
