Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38 is a man-made lipopeptide (commonly known as Matrixyl™ synthe'6™) and is a matrikine-mimetic compound. It targets multiple aspects of aging: it can penetrate deep into the dermis, stimulating the production of six key components at the dermal-epidermal junction and in the skin matrix (including collagen I, III, IV, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid, and laminin), essentially rebuilding the skin's network from within and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles (especially on the forehead and around the eyes).

Besides boosting collagen production, it also promotes the creation of aquaporins, which helps the skin retain moisture, strengthens the skin's lipid barrier, and reduces water loss.

Clinical trials have shown that facial serums with this ingredient can significantly increase skin hydration, elasticity, and radiance within 30 days, and are gentle and non-irritating on healthy adult skin.
