In middle-aged APPswe/PS1dE9 mice, the mutant peptide improved cognitive deficits and reduced amyloid pathology. Gly14 Humanin inhibited Aβ 1-42 fibril formation, disaggregates preformed fibrils, and protects against Abeta-induced cytotoxicity in vitro.
